Bitdeer secured a $4.7 billion AI data centre lease in Norway, according to Indiatimes.

Norway joins countries drawing large-scale AI infrastructure investment as operators seek available power and favorable climates. Indiatimes did not specify the landlord, site location, capacity, or lease term.

At $4.7 billion, the deal ranks among the larger AI infrastructure commitments this year. Capital is moving to AI compute capacity outside traditional US hyperscale corridors.

The buildout pressures local power availability and requires cooling and thermal design from day one. Retrofitting a site already running AI workloads is more disruptive than planning upfront.
